Making Your Summer Schedule
While summer is a fun-filled break for kids, changing routines can feel chaotic and can be tough for children to manage. Here's a tip from the Feelings School team to keep things running as smoothly as possible!
Increase predictability in your child's week by creating a family schedule. Hang it somewhere accessible to the whole family. At the start of each week, take a few minutes to review the schedule of upcoming events together so that kids are oriented to what their activities will be, how transportation will work, and who will be caring for them.
Include your child in the process! Older kids can create the calendar and younger ones can add illustrations and decorations
“This is helpful for all kids, but is especially important for children with anxiety about timing and scheduling!”
