Heather believes in the power of curiosity and openness to heal and create connections. As a clinical social worker, Heather works with mostly adults, families, and adolescents in her private practice, and is excited to work again directly with children at The Feelings School. Heather has experience teaching conflict resolution in elementary schools in NYC and working with children in a residential setting at the Jewish Board. She is looking forward to bringing her experiences and clinical training in CBT, trauma-informed relational therapy, and somatic experiencing to her work with children and families. She is currently training for her Somatic Experiencing Practitioner certificate at Somatic Experiencing International and completed the certificate program in Eating Disorders, Compulsions and Addictions at the William Allen White Institute.

Heather has a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Literature and Latin American Studies from Fordham University and a Masters in Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She lives in Manhattan with her daughter and enjoys gardening, singing, and listening to salsa music in her spare time. Heather is Mexican-American and speaks Spanish fluently in her daily life and in her practice.
