Lorena is a warm, curious, and client-centered therapist who is passionate about supporting individuals and families in feeling seen, understood, and empowered. Before becoming a social worker, she taught at an elementary school that integrated social-emotional learning into the curriculum. She has worked in community-based mental health settings and private practice, supporting children, families, and adults navigating a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges.
Her therapeutic style is creative, collaborative, and grounded in trauma-informed, evidence based care. She is trained in EMDR therapy and incorporates an eclectic approach rooted in relational and attachment theory. She is skilled in adjusting to her clients to help them engage in the therapeutic process and make sense of their experiences in ways that feel safe, accessible, and enjoyable. Outside of her work, she enjoys spending time with her energetic French Bulldog, writing poetry and fiction, and dancing to Latin music and Hip-hop!
